July Update from Pastor Patrick

Church Family can you believe how much rain and storms
we have experienced already this year? One week I believe
we had over 13” of rain. Of course, we are in the middle of
hot weather and pop-up showers. There’s no doubt that
storms come and go. I believe we are in the midst of a
storm with the virus affecting our worship services, our
folks dealing with health issues and the loss of loved ones.
In the Bible we see the disciples experience a major storm
in their lives. Jesus was asleep on the boat and the disciples
were panicking. Can you relate? Jesus responded to the
storm by rebuking the wind and sea. “Peace! Be still! And
the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39)
Church family, I want you to know that although we will
face storms, Jesus is always present and he always provides
us with peace. Whatever season you are in, whatever the
circumstances surrounding you, the Lord is able to give you
peace, comfort, security and protection. Yeah this storm
we are in may last awhile, but our Savior hasn’t left us.
Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present
help in trouble”. In the midst of the storm we may have to
adjust our sail or our seat, but our focus must be fixed on
our Savior.
Starting this Sunday, July 5, we will return to on campus
worship, as well as continue our online worship. Then on
July 12, we will have an ice cream social during our pm
worship. I look forward to seeing you all and I love you all.
