October update from Pastor Patrick Blackmon

to satisfy the people. At this point, the people are ready to make him king. However, it was not the time or the means by which He would receive His kingdom. Jesus quickly sends the disciples across the sea and He heads up to the mountains to pray. Three times in Mark’s gospel we see Jesus praying. Any time He faced a critical moment, Jesus prayed. I want to encourage you to continue to pray for this ministry, your staff and leadership, and opportunities to share the love of Christ right here in Buford.
This coming month we are having our annual fall festival. However, it will look a lot different than in years past. This year will be strictly a trunk or treat held on October 31 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. I am asking you to consider being a part of this outreach opportunity. I am praying for at least 25 cars from our church family to participate. You can also participate in a few other areas. Most importantly pray for this outreach and secondly you can donate bags of candy. I look forward to this exciting time together.
Mark 6:51 says, “And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded.”
I emphasized the first phrase to remind us that in the storms we face Jesus is always in our boat. Although at times we want to navigate our boat a different direction, remember Jesus lead them into the storm. We have seen a bunch of storms lately and we are navigating each of the storms that arise. The only way we can navigate through these storms is because Jesus is in our boat. Church let’s keep rowing together because the captain of our boat is King Jesus. The gospel must be proclaimed! Are you willing to proclaim it?
Love you all,
Pastor Patrick
